Leatherman Skeletool - 5 Ounces Of Fury
Today's outdoor enthusiasts aim to keep weight and volume down and not sacrifice quality and true functionality. While multi-tools have several options, they're often heavier with more features than are used on a regular basis. Conversely, pocket knives are lightweight and streamlined, but render themselves useless in the event that adjustments call for a tool. Enter the new, five-ounce Skeletool platform: Minimal weight, compact size and countless capabilities.
Whether you're enjoy hiking out in the woods, rock climbing, dirt biking, skiing, fishing, or beginning a DIY project at home; there are just some things you can't do without. "Everybody could agree that a quality knife, robust pliers and a brilliant screwdriver were the ideal mix," said Sr. Design Engineer John Nenadic. "The task meant looking back to the original design of the PST and altering the look of compact functionality for present day buyers."
Skeletool's outside-accessible blade means, just like a pocket knife, it can be deployed without delay with one hand. Bit driver technology means it is workable to customize the screwdriver for every task. Take either one of the bits that is supplied with the product, and can be kept within the handles, or integrate the Leatherman bit kit (sold separately) and there are upwards of 42 Hex, Robertson, Pozi, Torx, Phillips and Slotted bit extensions. Full-size pliers with wire cutters and folding handles-as only Leatherman can engineer them-are robust, comfortable and straightforward to use.
Two models of the tool, Leatherman Skeletool and Leatherman Skeletool CX began being distributed worldwide in January 2008. The Skeletool model is stainless steel with a 420HC blade and retails for £69.95. Skeletool CX is also stainless steel but features DLC Tungsten coating for scratch resistance and a 154CM straight blade that is incredibly simple to sharpen. MSRP for the CX model is £89.95. The two versions are supplied with the world famous Leatherman 25 year warranty.
